We would love to post it here.
Set in 16th century Venice and based on historical
facts, this exquisitely produced love story
is about a woman who must live the life of a
courtesan in order to have the man she loves.
It is, above all, a powerful tribute to a beautiful,
intelligent woman and a movie appreciated by
both men and women (The men especially love
the first scene bare-breasted women being paraded
in their gondolas - and for the women....Rufus
Sewell is absolutely gorgeous).

Water for Chocolate Genre:
Drama/Romance
Starring: Marco Leonardi, Lumi Cavazos
A
feast for the senses and well worth reading
subtitles (unless you understand Spanish). This
movie is full of fables, fantasy and fate. It
is a compelling love story between two young
people befallen by the traditions of Mexican
marriage rituals. Although the young lovers
are destined not to marry, they share a love
that changes everything. You will be consumed
in many ways – whether it is your appetite
for food, sensuality or sex - this movie graphically
addresses it all.…and the end is one of
the best ever.

Serendipity Genre:
Comedy/Romance
Starring: Jonathan Cusack, Sara Beckinsale
Although
predictable, this enchanting romantic comedy
could be described as a combination of An Affair
to Remember and You've Got Mail. It all begins
when New Yorker Jonathan (Cusack) meets Brit
beauty Sara (Beckinsale). They share a few perfect
hours together before parting ways, leaving
future encounters to her quirky obsession with
fate. One might say, when love feels like magic
its called destiny…when destiny has a
sense of humor its called Serendipity!!

Ladyhawke Genre:
Fantasy/Adventure/Romance
Starring: Matthew Broderick, Rutger Hauer, Michelle
Pfeiffer
A
magical mystical love story that transcends
time and space. Based on a 13th century European
legend, Ladyhawke is the enchanted story of
an exquisite beauty, the undaunted knight who
loves her, and a spirited young thief. The curse
of the Bishop keeps them "always together,
eternally apart." By day the beautiful
woman becomes the hawk who travels with the
knight, while the knight at night becomes a
wolf. Although the cursed lovers are the stars
of this compelling story, the movie is well
known for the thief's hilarious running commentaries
with God. It is a movie well worth seeing again
and again. It will take you into landscapes
- emotionally and visually - where you've never
been before. It is truly unforgettable!!!

Children
of a Lesser God Genre:
Drama
Starring: Willian Hurt, Marlee Matlin
Based
upon the Tony-awarded play by Mark Medoff, this
sensitive, intelligent film deals with an unorthodox
speech teacher at a school for the deaf, who
falls in love with a beautiful and rebellious
ex-student. It is a romantic, chemistry-filled
love story (Hurt and Matlin reportedly continued
their romance off-screen as well).

Revenge Genre:
Action/Thriller/Drama
Starring: Kevin Costner, Anthony Quinn, Madeleine
Stowe
Retired
pilot (Costner) makes the mistake of falling
in love with another man's wife. Anthony Quinn
gives a first-rate performance as the Mexican
crime lord who punishes his spouse and her lover,
beginning a cycle of vengeance and violence.
It is artfully photographed with tantalizing
love scenes (making lemonade will never be the
same after you see this). The story portrays
a passion that cannot be denied and a betrayal
that cannot be forgiven. Get out your box of
tissues, the ending is one of the sadist I've
seen, but at the same time, a compelling tribute
to the power of real love.

English
Patient,The Genre:
Romance/Drama
Starring: Ralph Fiennes, Juliette Binoche, William
Dafoe, Kristin Scott Thomas
The
English Patient is the moving story of an English
mapmaker and his dying memories of the romance
that tragically alters his life. Burned horribly
in a fiery crash after being shot down while
crossing the Sahara Desert during WWII, he is
tended to by a Canadian nurse with ghosts of
her own and haunted by a thief seeking answers
for a crime from his past. The panoramic photography
is spectacular and sensuous, as is the beckoning
love scene done with a candlelit pathway. Ahhhh,
the romance of a great storyteller, how we wish
it was reality.
